He mihi tēnei ki a koutou o te whānau i whakarauika mai i raro i te kaupapa nunui o Te Rau Herenga o Aotearoa 2025.
Te Rau Herenga o Aotearoa LIANZA 2025 Conference will be every bit as amazing as LIANZA2023. LIANZA2025 is a wonderful opportunity to bring people together from across our diverse library and information sector. The conference will be held September 23 - 24, 2025 at Tākina Wellington Convention and Exhibition Centre in Pōneke Wellington.
Opened in 2023 and located in the heart of Wellington's cultural precinct opposite Te Papa Tongarewa, Tākina Wellington Convention & Exhibition Centre balances flexibility and functionality with the latest technology, cutting-edge contemporary design, and panoramic views over the city and Wellington harbour.
Tākina has been designed and built in a way that reduces negative impacts on the environment. It has been awarded Five Green Star Design certification – the first convention centre in the country to achieve this standard. Designed by Studio Pacific Architecture, Tākina’s iconic design draws inspiration from a wide range of sources, including its maritime location and Wellington’s dramatic and sometimes wild weather patterns and landforms. The Māori mythology of Te Upoko o Te Ika - the head of the great fish of Maui - is also represented within the architecture.
LIANZA 2025 will meet the sector's diverse professional needs and interests. It will be an unparalleled opportunity to connect and engage with delegates, speakers, and vendors.
We are seeking people keen to join the conference committee and help make LIANZA 2025 happen. The committee consists of the conference chair(s), programme coordinator, bicultural convenor (based on recommendations), social coordinator, and other members as required.
Are you a passionate, energetic library or information person ready to create a conference programme and event that responds to the opportunities, issues, and trends facing the library and information sector?
“Being on the LIANZA conference committee was an incredible experience. It was challenging, but the personal rewards were immense. The weight of pulling off such a big event was real, but it also made every accomplishment feel even more satisfying. Connecting with library professionals from across the country was the absolute highlight. Sharing ideas, learning from each other, and supporting one another created a special bond. I can honestly say it was one of the most fulfilling roles I've had. If you're looking for a way to grow professionally, make a difference in our industry, and meet amazing people, I wholeheartedly encourage you to join the committee for LIANZA Conference 2025.” |

"Being on the 2023 LIANZA Conference committee was a fantastic experience. I applied because I wanted to experience the planning and logistics and see the inner workings of how a large professional conference is created from the ground up. To be honest, I thought I would just be a fly on the wall because I didn’t think I had the skills or knowledge to contribute much but little did I know that there are plenty of tasks for everyone and we need all parts of the machine to be working together to pull off a successful conference. When conference rolled around I was so pleased to see all the delegates having a great time and being so excited about the programme and events we had put together. If you are considering joining the committee I say go for it – you will learn and achieve so much, make a bunch of friends and help the GLAM sector shine!" |

“Being a part of the LIANZA 2023 Conference Committee gave me a behind-the-scenes look at just what goes in to planning a convention of this size. It was great to be a part of this, to see first-hand what a range of amazing and talented colleagues we have around the country who want to share their experience and ideas with us all, and to work with the committee to put together an engaging, exciting, and informational couple of days. I absolutely recommend getting involved if you have the opportunity – you’ll get to meet and work with some great people!” |

“I LOVED being part of the organising committee for LIANZA Conference 2023. It was my first time helping with a LIANZA Conference, and I was so excited about getting to work with such an amazing group of professionals. I am in such awe of their skills and expertise/knowledge. The camaraderie developed pretty quickly, and, whilst the planning was exciting, the event itself was the highlight. Helping to make everything run smoothly, getting to introduce and thank speakers, working as team, supporting each other - it was wonderful. I would do it again in a heartbeat. And I think I'd be better at it next time round, as I know what I'm in for now! |
